one more…..pleeeeez!

i’ll admit that i follow my children with my camera.  i LOVE taking their pictures.  and recently, they have started to resent me.  they cover their faces.  they do not laugh or smile at any of my silly antics.  one son even throws stones at me and my precious camera (can you guess which one?).  you would think i was really tormenting them instead of trying to capture their spirits.  here’s one of an angry niko that makes me laugh when i look at it…

festival of lights

yesterday was our big holiday, diwali where we welcome Laxmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity.  we celebrated by putting up a small alter of our hindu gods and lighting tons of candles.  we cleaned our house and wore new clothes.  the boys put on ornate indian outfits and looked so handsome…little bollywood actors.  we did our prayers, ate sweets for a sweet life and had a delicious feast made my my mom.  then the kiddos received gifts like an early Christmas.  they were over the moon.  it was a fun evening with our family in our new home….

my parents came to visit us from new york.  our very first visitors to our new home in florida.  we decided to take a road trip and explore the nation’s oldest city, st. augustine.  what a charming and quaint little town!  so full of color and character.  right on the water.  we toured the windy narrow streets, cute shops and historic forts along with all the other tourists.  and i found inspiration everywhere, take a look….

• session fee is due at the time of booking to reserve your slot.  booking is first come, first serve basis.
• within 7 days of your photo session, mikifoto will send a link to your private online gallery.  once your gallery is up, you will have ONLY 5 DAYS to make your order.  this deadline ensures that your products will be delivered on time for the holidays!
• if ordering holiday cards, please select the template from our 2008 designs and your images from your gallery.  your package price includes ONLY ONE revision to your card design.  once you’ve confirmed your order, you will receive a proof by email for final approval.  with your final approval, the cards will be sent to print.

new gal in town

that would be me…the new gal in gainesville, florida.  

we’re finally settled into our new home.  all the boxes are unpacked, the boys in school, the hubby at work.  now it’s my turn and i have to jump start mikifoto in a new place.  not easy but i’m optimistic.  i created an updated logo and ordered new biz cards.  i even created these fancy postcards to start handing out.  what do you think? hope it helps attract some new clients bec i’m itching to take my camera out and start shooting.

i decided to do a little makeover to my logo/branding.  since i’m in a new place, i thought it would be good timing.  something fresh.  with flair.  still contemporary.  fun and friendly.  vibrant.  take a looksie…

the thinker

he’s pensive and contemplative.  cautious and somewhat anxious.  mature.  there is so much going on his head and he’s only just 6 years old.  right now, he’s obsessed with the election.  my son can tell you the current democratic states vs. the republican states vs. the swing states.  to be honest, he knows way more then me.  i have my own cnn correspondent!  and thank god for the internet to help me answer all his questions.  

but when he cracks his magnetic smile or asks to be pushed higher on the swing or needs a kiss for a new boo boo, i am reminded that he is a little boy afterall…
